We're excited to see Mississippi's thriving technology scene get well-deserved attention. According to a recent article by Becky Gillette in the Mississippi Business Journal, our state is quickly becoming known as a great place for technology innovation.

FoundersPlus, a Pilot Program to Support Mississippi Founders Who Historically Lack Access to Capital and Resources

Innovate Mississippi is pleased to announce the launch of the new pilot program, FoundersPlus. The program aims to provide support and resources to Mississippi founders from impoverished communities, women founders, and founders of color who systematically lack access to capital.
The 2-year pilot program has received financial support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The structure of the FoundersPlus program is designed to be iterative in its curriculum approach so that Innovate Mississippi can provide tailored advice using its Startup Stages methodology.
The program will launch the week of April 3, 2023, with an Introductory session, followed by one session per week for six weeks. The program will conclude on the week of May 8, 2023, with a Pitch Development session. After the…

State of Mississippi announces revised action plan for Community Development Block Grant funds for Hurricanes Zeta and Ida

Jackson, Miss. (March 14, 2023) – The state of Mississippi is seeking public comment on a proposed amendment to the action plan for using Hurricanes Zeta and Ida Community Development Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The proposed action plan amendment includes changes to the previously approved federally funded programs that support the state's long-term recovery from storm damages. Hurricane Zeta supplemental funds will be evenly split between the two HUD designated locations of Harrison County and the city of Moss Point in Jackson County. Hurricane Ida funds are designated for storm water infrastructure in Moss Point and a watershed mitigation study for Jackson County.
