Jackson councilman wants to know when Hotel O will be torn down
SUMMARY: Jackson City Councilman Ashby Foote of Ward 1 is eager to know when the abandoned Hotel O will be demolished, as ordered by Judge Jeffery Reynolds. Donors have shown willingness to fund the demolition, but a timeline is needed. City Attorney Drew Martin mentioned that the hotel’s owners have filed an appeal in Circuit Court, delaying the process. Martin also hopes Judge Reynolds will soon allow the city to erect barriers around the hotel to prevent public access. The Jackson police have called for the removal of Hotel O, which has become a concern for the community.
