The owner, Jeffrey Ross, has been providing new hairstyles for children for 30 years. Ross stated that this is a way for them to give back to the community and see the smiles on the children’s faces as they prepare for the first day of school. Meanwhile, Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes expressed concern about bullying at school and announced a summit on the topic to be held at the Medgar Evers Library on August 10th.

A high-pressure system will move in by Thursday, bringing well-above-average temperatures. Heat indices may reach 107–110 degrees by Friday, especially west of I-55 in Mississippi.
