SUMMARY: Brandy Pierce, accused of killing her 9-year-old son and hiding the body in Detroit, is currently in Cobb County Jail awaiting extradition. Her troubles in Atlanta began when police found her 3-year-old son alone in a locked SUV in Brookhaven on December 20, 2023. The vehicle was unrunning, and the child was found nude and covered in feces. Authorities revealed that Pierce had moved to Atlanta to evade justice after her son, Zamar King, was discovered deceased due to smothering and neck compression. She faces multiple charges, including murder and child abuse, while her surviving child remains in DFCS custody.

SUMMARY: The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has filed an amicus brief against new rules approved by the Georgia State Election Board concerning ballot counting and result inquiries prior to the November 2024 primary. Although the state Supreme Court halted these rules in October, the appeal is ongoing. The DNC argues these rules exceed the board’s authority and could undermine election integrity.
