SUMMARY: Temperatures will start in the 70s and quickly rise into the 80s by lunchtime, reaching the lower 90s in the afternoon. High humidity will make it feel even hotter, possibly reaching the mid-90s. Heat safety precautions are advised, such as taking breaks in the shade and drinking plenty of water. There is a marginal risk for afternoon showers in some Northern counties today. Tomorrow, a cold front will bring a slight risk of severe weather, including damaging winds and hail. Showers and storms are expected on Wednesday and Thursday, with the main severe threat coming on Thursday night into Friday morning. Mother's Day weekend will see cooler temperatures in the upper 70s.
