Interview: Lessons in Black History event set for July 15 in Tupelo

SUMMARY: Tonight’s event in celebration of Black History will feature Dr. Carl Mack, who returns to Tupelo by popular demand to elaborate on the emancipation history specific to Tupelo and Lee County. Previously unable to cover everything in his last visit, Dr. Mack will focus on the role African American soldiers played in achieving emancipation. Teresa Roberts emphasizes the importance of understanding this history to inspire pride and civic participation among attendees. The free event will be held at Park at Dynasty, previously known as the old Elks building, starting at 5:30 PM for socializing, with the program commencing at 6 PM.

The event will take place at the Parkhill Dynasty in Tupelo.
