Interview: Culinary Art director at The W talks about expansion of the culinary department at The W

SUMMARY: The Mississippi University for Women celebrated the opening of one of the largest culinary arts buildings in the state. The new building offers various amenities including tech-enabled lecture classrooms, a demonstration classroom, and an active learning classroom. It also features two commercial kitchens and a self-contained bake shop. Tracy Watkins, the culinary arts director, expressed her excitement about the state’s commitment to culinary education and the opportunities it will provide for students. Watkins, an alum of the university’s culinary arts program, is proud to be a part of the building’s history and looks forward to educating the next generation of culinary leaders.

Leaders at The W recently cut the ribbon and celebrated the largest purpose-built facility for culinary education in Mississippi’s history.
