Husband of Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin not surprised by team’s postseason success

For the first time since 2007, the Ole Miss women's basketball team is heading to the Sweet 16.
Though most college basketball fans were surprised by the 8-seed Lady Rebels making it this far, the husband of Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, Kelly McCuin, was one of the few who hasn't been surprised by the team's success.
“For me personally, it was surreal, but it wasn't surprising,” McCuin said on Good Things with Rebecca Turner. “Seeing everything coming to fruition and having a chance to beat a team like Stanford. They're a phenomenal team, phenomenal program, with an awesome coaching staff and awesome players. To do it on that big stage and in their house, it was awesome.”
Leading up to a big game, every coach has a ritual or series of them. McCuin says his wife, known by many as simply “Coach Yo,” temporarily detaches from everyday life and focuses solely on her team's next basketball game in order to be thoroughly prepared.

11-year-old boy says he thought he would die after Mississippi police officer shot him

SUMMARY: An 11-year-old Mississippi boy was shot in the chest by an officer after calling the police for help. Aderrien Murry's mother filed a federal lawsuit, seeking at least $5 million in damages, claiming the officer used excessive force and Indianola failed to provide proper training. Aderrien was hospitalized for five days and is recovering from a collapsed lung, lacerated liver, and fractured ribs. The officer, Sgt. Greg Capers, has been suspended with pay during an ongoing investigation into the shooting.

Deputies investigate homicide after finding man dead at Lee County home

Two Rankin County students injured in four-wheeler accident

SUMMARY: Two Pisgah Elementary School students, Lou Dittus and Keigan Norwood, were injured in a four-wheeler accident and were taken to Children's of Mississippi in Jackson. The community held a prayer service in support of the students and their families. Donations of A+ blood for Norwood can be made at Lowe's in Greenville, Mississippi, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30.
