Hurley community to hold fundraising event for 8-year-old with quadriplegia
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Songwriters’ Alliance is hosting an event to benefit the family of eight-year-old Connor P., who has quadriplegia. Connor was born with minor neck issues but became paralyzed from the neck down after spinal injury and surgeries. He requires a wheelchair controlled by an iPad, a feeding tube, and a ventilator. The family struggles with transportation as they have to travel to New Orleans for hospital visits. The event aims to raise funds to purchase a van capable of transporting Connor’s essential items. It includes a yard sale, kids’ games, live music, and raffles. Those unable to attend can donate directly to the family.

Ole Miss left tackle Diego Pounds earned co-offensive lineman of the week honors for helping backup quarterback Trinidad Chambliss lead the Rebels to a 41-35 win over Arkansas, playing all 75 snaps and allowing just one sack.
