Tears were shed during a tree planting ceremony in Pascagoula in honor of those who died while in hospice.
Every year in November, which is National Hospice Month, the Hospice of Light honors those that passed in the last year.
Families gathered to watch as the names of their loved ones were dropped in a hole around the oak tree being planted near the walking trail at the Singing River Healthplex.
Afterward, families grabbed shovels and helped fill in soil around the tree, as a way to remember their loved ones.
