Here's how the Jackson Zoo is missing out on potential revenue
SUMMARY: The Jackson Zoo has struggled with profitability, primarily due to its inability to accept electronic payments. Parks and Recreation Director Abram Muhammad noted that in May alone, the zoo turned away 423 potential patrons, resulting in a revenue loss estimated between $5,000 and $7,300. This trend continued, with June’s losses reaching approximately $6,800 and July’s potentially at $11,000. To address this issue, the zoo is expected to implement electronic payment options by the end of August 2024, which zoo leaders hope will enhance its financial viability and attract more visitors.
