SUMMARY: Recently, the longshoremen and the US Maritime Alliance successfully ended a strike by reaching a record wage agreement through collective bargaining. This highlights the importance of collective negotiation; when individual workers must negotiate against a large entity, fairness is often compromised. However, when workers unite as a collective, they increase the likelihood of achieving equitable outcomes. This underscores the vital role of unions in advocating for workers’ rights. Ultimately, strong unions contribute to a stronger America, reinforcing the principle that collective bargaining is essential for fair labor practices.

He declined the firing squad after concerns arose from a prior execution. Appeals and a clemency request were denied. Victims’ families and his lawyer witnessed the execution.
