Grand opening of Greenvale House held in Long Beach

SUMMARY: The city of Long Beach, Mississippi, held the grand opening of the Green Vale Home, also known as the Quarrels House, a historic place moved from Tennessee in 1918. W.J. Quarrels and his family were prominent settlers of the city. They opened the first general store and the first school in Long Beach in their home. The house has been restored to its original state and has historical significance. Long Beach Mayor George Bass says the grand opening is just as historical as the house itself. The house and the property have been donated and will be featured in a newscast on Monday night.



On Saturday morning, the city of Long Beach held the grand opening of the Greenvale Home, also known as the Quarles House.
