Grand jury indicts former West Union teacher for child enticement

SUMMARY: Lauren Kenamore, an academic counselor at Ole Miss and former teacher at West Union Attendance Center, has been indicted by a local grand jury for child enticement. The indictment claims she persuaded a 17-year-old student to engage in sexually explicit conduct between February and March of this year. Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards confirmed her booking at the jail and noted that she was fired from her teaching position during this time. Currently on leave from Ole Miss’s School of Journalism and New Media, Kenamore faces a felony charge that could result in 5 to 40 years in prison if convicted.
