Gas station destroyed by tornado in Amory is being rebuilt

SUMMARY: A new Exxon gas station will open soon, replacing the one destroyed by a tornado last year. Builders expect the station to be ready by late August or early October, and it will be twice the size of the previous one. Local residents are excited to have the station back, particularly those on the North side who have had to travel to the other side of town for gas station amenities. The station’s reopening is especially important for people on their way to work, such as a resident whose husband used to stop by the gas station before work at Cooper Tire. March 24th marks the one-year anniversary of the ef3 tornado that damaged homes and businesses in the area.
