Former Ole Miss star Michael Oher seeks to end conservatorship with Tuohy family
SUMMARY: Former football player Michael Oher has accused Sean and Leigh Anne Touhy of exploiting him and profiting off his story without his permission. Oher’s legal team has filed a petition to terminate the Touhys’ conservatorship over him, which gave them the authority to negotiate contracts on his behalf. Oher claims that the Touhys never legally adopted him and instead had him sign into a conservatorship when he turned 18. He alleges that the Touhy family earned nearly $225,000 and a percentage of the profits from the hit movie “The Blind Side,” while he received no monetary gains. Oher is seeking to prohibit the Touhys from profiting off his name and likeness and to receive his fair share of the movie’s profits.

SUMMARY: Mississippi’s only major-league affiliated team, the Biloxi Shuckers, was eliminated from the 2025 Southern League playoffs after a 4-2 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits in game two of the Division Series. This marks the second consecutive year Montgomery has ousted Biloxi. The Shuckers finished the season 74-64, winning the South Division first-half title. Manager Joe Ayrault, who battled and beat stage 3 colon cancer during the season, praised the team’s effort. Despite an early lead from Jesus Made’s homer and Blake Burke’s RBI single, Montgomery rallied in the eighth inning to win. Biloxi’s next season starts April 3, 2026.
