SUMMARY: Last year, the Pearl River experienced heavy rain events, causing it to rise significantly. However, this year, the river’s water level is much lower, indicating a series of dry days. The principle that things are always changing can be observed in the fluctuating water levels. Currently, the reservoir is discharging more water than it is receiving, but this will change once it starts raining again. Despite the changing conditions, it is expected that the weather cycles will eventually bring wetter days. Before the floods return, one can visit Skylake, where the world’s largest bald cypress tree can be seen. Overall, change is inevitable, and hopefully, the next change will be for the better.
