Nick Bain is on the verge of being upset by challenger Brad Mattox. The race is too close to call with a 23-vote separation. In House District 66, Fabian Nelson has become the state’s first openly gay lawmaker after defeating Roshunda Harris-Allen. Tamarra Butler-Washington is set to take over the position in House District 69, while Justis Gibbs has won in House District 72. Elliot Burch defeated incumbent Rep. Dale Goodin in House District 105, and Zachary Grady won in House District 115.

New marker unveiled on Elvis’ Tupelo Driving Tour

Ole Miss linebacker Tyler Banks earns Chucky Mullins Courage Award

SUMMARY: Ole Miss linebacker Tyler Banks has been named the 2025 Chucky Mullins Courage Award winner and will wear the No. 38 jersey in honor of Mullins. Banks, a senior from Virginia and three-year letterwinner, is the 35th recipient of the award, which honors Mullins, who was paralyzed during a 1989 game and passed away in 1991. Head coach Lane Kiffin praised Banks for his perseverance, leadership, and dedication on and off the field. Banks has played in all 39 games since 2022, mainly on special teams, and serves on the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The award recognizes courage and determination.
