Fire started in yard of Monroe County home kills elderly woman

SUMMARY: An 83-year-old woman named Annie Robertson from the Egypt community of Aberdeen, Monroe County, died due to smoke inhalation after starting a brush fire in her yard. The nearby Cedar Creek responded to the scene when a neighbor reported a trailer on fire across the road. Robertson had been seen cleaning her property and burning brush earlier. She was found deceased by firefighters, and an investigation is being conducted by the Monroe County Sheriff's Department along with the Fire Marshal's Office. No one lived in the trailer, and no autopsy is planned for Robertson.
