Sewer pipe, manhole maintenance underway on Meridian streets
SUMMARY: The city has contracted Hemp Hill Construction to rehabilitate various sanitary sewer pipes and manholes, as stated by Public Works Director David Hodj. Funded through ARPA funds, the project will primarily use cured-in-place pipe lining, which entails pulling a resin-saturated felt tube through existing pipes to create a seamless, rigid liner. This technique is designed to help prevent groundwater infiltration and pipe collapses, with some pipe replacement also included in the rehabilitation efforts.
