Eupora is upgrading the city’s police patrol fleet with a Tesla
SUMMARY: The Eupora Board of Alderman voted to modernize the city’s police patrol fleet by purchasing a Tesla Model 3, making Eupora PD the first in the state to do so. The switch to an electric vehicle is expected to save the city around $6,000 annually in comparison to a gas-powered vehicle. The Tesla will also have advanced safety features, such as GPS tracking and a camera system, providing benefits for officer and citizen safety. City leaders are hoping this move will showcase Eupora as a forward-thinking city and inspire others to consider utilizing new technologies for improved services. The Tesla is expected to arrive in a few months.
