Entergy Mississippi restores power to nearly 56,000 customers
SUMMARY: Entergy Mississippi crews have made significant progress in restoring power after severe thunderstorms hit their service area on Monday night. Additional storms on Tuesday and Wednesday caused further outages. As of 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, power has been restored to over 55,900 customers, with 5,420 still without power. The Vicksburg, Brookhaven, and Natchez areas suffered the most significant damage, and Magee was heavily impacted by Wednesday’s storms. Some outages are expected to extend into Thursday, June 6. Damage assessments reveal issues with 111 poles, 41 transformers, and 66 crossarms, with over 22 miles of wire down. Customers should check Entergy’s outage map for updates.
