East Mississippi Veterans Foundation hosting Armed Forces Day Freedom 5K May 18

SUMMARY: Greg Summerland from the East Mississippi Veterans Foundation discussed the upcoming Armed Forces Day Freedom 5K run on May 18th in downtown Meridian. The event will include an opening ceremony with an invocation, color guard, and national anthem. Registration fees are $25 for the run/walk, $20 for the fun run, and $20 for military veterans and first responders until May 3rd. Prices will increase after that. Additionally, there will be a Memorial Day celebration at a park on Highway 11 and 80 on May 24th, as well as a screening of a military-themed film on May 18th at MCC McCain theater.
