SUMMARY: In Hattiesburg, an altercation between a DEA agent and a detainee led to an officer-involved shooting. The DEA agent, along with a Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Task Force officer, was transporting two individuals to the federal courthouse when the altercation happened. The Task Force officer shot the detainee involved in the altercation. Both the DEA agent and the detainee were taken to a local hospital, with no updates on their conditions. West Pine Street, initially closed, has reopened and traffic is flowing normally.
