SUMMARY: In “Doc Talk,” Dr. Dina Tom from University Health discusses pediatric health concerns. She addresses viewer questions regarding cough medicine for children under four, stating that no over-the-counter options are safe. Alternatives include honey (for children over one), humidifiers, and Vicks vapor rub. Regarding RSV, children can spread the virus for 8-10 days, while infants may spread it for about a month. The newly introduced RSV vaccine offers significant protection, especially for newborns. Dr. Tom also reassures parents that it’s not too late to vaccinate against the flu.
