SUMMARY: Federal agents conducted raids in Boston as part of President Trump’s mass deportation plan, targeting violent individuals such as gang members and murder suspects. The Trump administration reports 538 illegal immigrants were arrested in what it claims will be the largest deportation operation in history. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) focused on removing criminals, including MS-13 gang members, as part of a “worst first” approach. While the emphasis is currently on violent offenders, experts suggest that nonviolent criminals may eventually be targeted as well. Predictions indicate some individuals may choose to self-deport to avoid arrest.
