UPDATE: One dead after officer-involved shooting at Gulfport apartment complex
SUMMARY: On Sunday night, a person who was shot by a Gulfport police officer has died, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. The incident occurred when Gulfport police responded to a stabbing at William Bell Apartments. An officer got into an altercation with someone on the scene, resulting in the person being shot and taken to the hospital, where they later died. It is unclear if the person shot was involved in the stabbing or if the stabbing victim was taken to the hospital. The MBI stated that the incident is still under investigation, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Governor Tate Reeves proclaims Hurricane Preparedness Week
