Coroner: Man shot while attacking mother has died

SUMMARY: The suspect in an officer-involved shooting in Alcorn County has died. Coroner J. Jones confirmed that 39-year-old Jason CRA, from Corinth, passed away last Tuesday at Regional One Hospital in Memphis. The body is being sent for an autopsy. The incident occurred earlier this month when deputies responded to a service call on County Road 575 in Corinth. CRA was reportedly threatening to harm himself and others with a knife and struck his mother in the head. A deputy’s taser failed to subdue him, leading to CRA being shot by deputies as he continued attacking his mother.

The man who was shot by Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office deputies while allegedly attacking his mother has died, the coroner confirmed.
