Columbus gets professional help in planning future development

SUMMARY: The City of Columbus is receiving professional help from the Mayors’ Institute on City Design to plan for future development. The Institute is focusing on implementing the concept of a “seamless city” in Columbus, aimed at redeveloping historically neglected areas such as Memphistown and Queen City neighborhoods, as well as Propst Park. City planners sent by the Institute are studying Columbus and making recommendations for redevelopment. Mayor Gaskin sees this collaboration as an opportunity to access resources that the city would not otherwise be able to afford, with the goal of achieving equal attention and success in all parts of the city.
