SUMMARY: Alcorn State Braves are gearing up for their upcoming football season opener against Southern Miss. Head coach Fred McNair is optimistic about his team, highlighting the strong defense and the return of top player Jarvion Howard. He expects the front seven to dominate and hopes that the offense, particularly the running backs and offensive line, will deliver a relentless performance. McNair also mentioned that the team has improved in terms of speed and special teams. The Alcorn State Braves have been playing under the radar in the SWAC the last few seasons but they could the dark horse to come out of the West Division and be in contention for the SWAC title. Head coach Fred McNair has an experienced defense returning and a stable of talented running backs. The Braves feel they are in position to make some noise in the SWAC but they put everyone on notice this weekend when they play Southern Miss to start the year.
