Coastal Family Health Center holds ribbon cutting for new Biloxi location

A large health center has expanded along the Coast.

There was not an open parking spot in sight for Coastal Family Health Center’s ribbon cutting in East Biloxi.

Several members of the Coast community gathered to see the business open their doors to the public for the first time.

Coastal is a federally qualified community health center that’s a 340B Pharmacy, which allows them to help low-income and uninsured patients to buy outpatient prescription drugs at a discount of 25 to 50 percent.

Members of Coastal Family Health Center are celebrating this long-awaited day….

Mississippi’s new seafood labeling law takes effect July 1

SUMMARY: Starting July 1, 2025, Mississippi’s Seafood Labeling Law requires all seafood, including shrimp and crawfish, sold in the state—whether in stores, markets, restaurants, or food trucks—to be clearly labeled as “Domestic” if harvested, raised, and processed in the U.S., or “Imported” if sourced outside the U.S. The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) and the Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) will oversee compliance through inspections statewide. The law aims to boost consumer confidence and support local fishermen, with educational resources and sample signage available online to assist businesses during the transition.

Fourth Annual “Big T Invitational” in memory of Thomas Miller raises 10-thousand dollars for UAB Hospital

SUMMARY: The Fourth Annual Big T Invitational was held Saturday in Biloxi at Sunkist Country Club with 92 participants honoring Thomas Miller’s life. Miller, who battled serious heart problems and passed away in 2022, inspired the event to support the LVAD Patient Assistance Fund at UAB, where he received care. His son, Blake Miller, shared how golf connects them and continues his father’s legacy. The Big T Foundation has raised over \$28,000 to help patients with left ventricular assist devices. The event celebrates Miller’s memory while giving back to the hospital that extended his life.
