Lane Kiffin challenges revenue sharing cap enforcement, trolls Hugh Freeze at SEC Media Days
SUMMARY: Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss head coach, criticized the flawed regulation of college football at SEC Media Days, focusing on the new federal settlement allowing schools to pay athletes up to \$20.5 million but capping NIL deals over \$600 through a Deloitte-managed clearinghouse. Kiffin’s program operates under this budget cap but suspects others are violating it without clear penalties. He doubts the system’s effectiveness in ensuring fairness and salary cap adherence. Despite concerns, he believes revenue sharing will promote roster parity. Kiffin also playfully targeted former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze with trolling jabs, continuing their public banter.
