Clarkdale Softball returns to home field after nearly two years of storm-damage renovations

SUMMARY: The Golden Eagles rallied in the tenth inning but fell short, losing to the Colonels 6-5 in a special night for the Clarkdale community. The game marked the Lady Bulldogs’ first home game on campus in nearly two years after their softball complex was destroyed by tornadoes. The team was elated to welcome the Newton County Lady Cougars to town for the game. The players felt a sense of normalcy and appreciation for the community and facilities. The game brought a calmness, as they didn’t have to load everything on the field themselves.

A walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh inning made Clarkdale’s return to their newly renovated home field an extra special night for the high school.
