Chris Beard staying with Ole Miss basketball despite Arkansas’ interest
SUMMARY: Chris Beard has decided to remain the head coach of Ole Miss men’s basketball, despite interest from Arkansas. Former Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman left for the University of Southern California. College basketball insider Jeff Goodman reported that Beard was a leading candidate for the Arkansas opening. Beard confirmed his decision to stay at Ole Miss in a post, expressing excitement for the future in Oxford. He recently signed a contract extension to stay until 2028. In his first season, Beard led the Rebels to a 20-12 record, a significant improvement from the previous season under Kermit Davis.
