Canton man convicted in shooting death of wife

On January 30, 2024, Johnson called 911 claiming his wife had shot herself, but investigators found she had been shot in the back two days prior. Evidence revealed ongoing domestic violence in their relationship. Johnson testified it was accidental, but the jury deliberated for three hours before reaching their verdict.

Death toll from catastrophic Texas flooding passes 100
