Caledonia man arrested for allegedly strangling girlfriend
SUMMARY: A 20-year-old man from Caledonia, Mississippi, named Tyler Hall has been accused of strangling his girlfriend and then driving a car into another person. He was charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated domestic violence. Hall allegedly choked his girlfriend and then started driving donuts in the yard before pinning her between two vehicles when a second person tried to intervene. Hall was later arrested at a nearby gas station. The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and more charges may be filed. Hall is currently on probation for a previous burglary charge.

JPD encourages safety on roads after fatal hit-and-run

State Auditor Shad White travels state to talk about upcoming goals

11 people become American citizens in Jackson
SUMMARY: 11 new Americans from 7 different countries took their oaths as citizens at the Thad Cochran United States Courthouse, accompanied by their families and friends. One new citizen described the journey as long but is happy to have finally completed the process. Assistant U.S. Attorney Chet Kirkham verified that all applicants met the qualifications for citizenship. U.S. Magistrate Judge Lakeysha Greer Isaac extended her welcome to the new citizens and commended them for their long hours and dedication. She also noted the rich cultural and diverse contributions that they would bring to the United States. Nine new citizens also requested to change their names after becoming naturalized.
