Boeing Starliner returns to Earth without crew
SUMMARY: Boeing’s Starliner capsule returned to Earth without crew late last night, following a decision by NASA to keep it unmanned. Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunny Williams, who launched on June 5, faced mechanical issues that extended their mission beyond the intended eight days. This test flight aims to develop more cost-effective travel to the International Space Station. Despite the challenges, NASA officials expressed satisfaction with the mission’s success, highlighting their commitment and efforts. Both astronauts will remain aboard the ISS until February, underscoring a collaborative achievement for the NASA and Boeing teams.

Teachers planning for new school year in Putnam County
SUMMARY: Teachers in Putnam County are preparing for the new school year as students return Monday. At Cookeville High School, a Spanish teacher focuses not just on language skills but on helping students connect, be curious, and support others. Another teacher views her classroom as a place to teach responsibility, respect, and resilience. Both educators emphasize the importance of life skills, emotional well-being, and seeing students grow into thoughtful adults. They find fulfillment in hearing from former students who succeed in college and careers. Success, they say, goes beyond test scores to the development of the whole person.
