Boater dies on reservoir, bird missing

Reservoir authorities are investigating the death of 62-year-old Steve Cermak, who reportedly suffered a medical episode before crashing his boat last night. Police received calls about an unaccompanied boat around 10 PM and found Cermak’s body shortly after. Known affectionately as “Scuba Steve,” he was a beloved community figure often seen with his cockatoo, “Buddy,” who is still missing. A family friend described him as a joyful presence, stating that it was impossible to be in a bad mood around him.
