Blitz 16 Preview-Tri County Academy
SUMMARY: Tonight at 10, a Hattiesburg city council member will discuss decisions related to the upcoming budget season, focusing on the 2025 fiscal year. Parks and Recreation, led by Director Betsy Mercier, has made employee pay raises and new equipment a priority. They emphasize the importance of modernizing public spaces, like Tatum Park, and plan to continue these efforts into the next fiscal year. The department aims to be the premier city, focusing on safety, modernized facilities, and increased employee benefits. Their main focus will be on improving Veteran Memorial Park, Jones Pool, and Vernon Dahmer Park.
The Tri County Academy Rebels returned to the winner’s circle last season and they plan to stay there in 2024. The Rebels have been to the 4A MAIS state finals for four of the last five years but this year’s they are opening up their offense even more and have a speedy defense that will hopefully lead them to another state title.
