SUMMARY: The Florence Eagles are gearing up for the high school football season with hopes of making it to the playoffs and going further than last year. After a season filled with ups and downs, the team is motivated by their final loss that cost them a playoff spot. Head coach Rod Davis believes the team’s offense, led by quarterback Luke Reed and running back Xavier Quick, will be able to put up more points this year due to their experience. The Eagles are flying under the radar but are determined to work harder and turn heads this season.

As we continue our Blitz 16 Previews we visit the Florence Eagles. Florence went 8-4 last season but missed the playoffs by one game. They are motivated by last year’s disappointing finish to score more points and make the postseason in 2023.

SUMMARY: Parts of the region could see storms on Father’s Day, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices in the upper 90s. Afternoon storms may bring gusty winds and hail, though severe weather is not expected. Monday follows a similar pattern with scattered afternoon storms. A high-pressure system will move in by Thursday, bringing well-above-average temperatures. Heat indices may reach 107–110 degrees by Friday, especially west of I-55 in Mississippi. The week ahead will remain hot and humid, with increasingly oppressive heat expected through the weekend. Stay weather-aware and hydrated amid the steamy conditions.
