Biloxi native finds out his uncle is WWII hero
A mindless Google search led to a family discovering their family member is a hero.
One day, retired Air Force veteran John Lindsley decided to Google search his family to see what kind of information he could find.
Much to his surprise, he discovered that his uncle, Lt. Billy Vincent, was known as a hero in La Motte Fouquet for saving their town during World War II. During a run, Vincent saw a German convey. SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting. James, 53, remains at large and is wanted for murder and other charges. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Gulfport Police or Crime Stoppers.
