SUMMARY: Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, has tightened security measures after a tragic incident occurred in which an elderly man attempted to end both his and his wife’s lives. Gunshots were heard coming from different patient rooms on the 6th floor around 2 am. Capitol Police and Baptist Police staff responded to the scene, and the hospital was put on lockdown. It was found that the 90-year-old husband had shot his 92-year-old wife in the head before attempting to take his own life. The wife survived and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
