Autopsy shows Mississippi teen died from blunt-force trauma
SUMMARY: An autopsy report revealed that 17-year-old Kadarius Smith died from blunt-force trauma after allegedly being hit by a Leland patrol car. Attorney Ben Crump stated Smith was struck while walking home on March 21. Witnesses claim the patrol car chased him. Crump and co-counsel Van Turner demand accountability for the officers involved, describing the incident as a tragic and unjustifiable act. City attorney Josh Bogen called it an accident, stating the officers were responding to an assault call and denying that the officer intentionally ran Smith over. Leland has a population of about 3,900 and is northwest of Jackson, Mississippi.
