American Red Cross breathing life into Tupelo CPR classes

SUMMARY: the American Red Cross North Mississippi chapters are now offering adult CPR and first aid classes once a month. The classes are held at the American Red Cross Tupelo office and follow a blended learning format, which includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skills session. The instructor's course will train candidates to teach basic level first aid, CPR, and AED courses. The importance of CPR and first aid training is highlighted through the example of Demar Hamlin's life being saved by trainers who were trained by the American Red Cross. Pre-registration is required for all classes and can be completed online.

Woman charged with kidnapping two Vicksburg children

Each business owner had the opportunity to explain why they believed their small business would make a difference. The businesses included a party rental company, a salad bar, a barber shop for hair loss, and nerdesign med cart LLC, which won the grand prize. The winning business, owned by April Culvert, has patented a product that makes nurses' jobs easier by compartmentalizing Med carts. Culvert received a small seed fund and temporary space in the Renaissance Center for her business.
