SUMMARY: Yesterday, hundreds of walkers hit the streets of Biloxi, Mississippi to raise funds for Alzheimer’s care and research. This annual event, organized by the Alzheimer’s Association, took place in over 600 communities nationwide. Terry Roddy, the executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association, stated that millions of people are battling the disease, with 6 million living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. In Mississippi alone, there are thousands of unpaid caregivers taking care of those affected. Participants in the event received a promise garden flower representing their connection to the disease.

The walk raises funds for care, support, and research.
