Alabama Education Association to discuss tasing, arrest of Minor HS band director
SUMMARY: The Alabama Education Association (AEA) is holding a press conference to discuss the tasing and arrest of Minor High School Band Director Johnny Mims. Mims was tased by a Birmingham Police Department (BPD) officer after a football game when he instructed his band to keep playing after being asked by officers to stop. Mims was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, harassment, and resisting arrest. Attorney Juandalynn Givan will represent Mims, and the press conference will address the incident and answer media questions. The conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Region AEA Office.
