SUMMARY: Mississippi’s forest landowners affected by 2023’s drought and beetle infestation have access to the Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP) following approval by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. All 82 counties can apply until August 15 for aid to recover from losses exceeding 12.5 million trees and $96 million in timber. COO Meryl Fisackerly will lead during the CEO search, with stakeholder input encouraged. Higgins contributed to major projects including Steel Dynamics and Airbus plants and multiple megasites.
