Affordable housing slowly becoming available in Miami-Dade
SUMMARY: The housing crisis in South Florida, particularly in Miami-Dade County, has led to soaring rent prices that residents can no longer afford. Many are leaving the area, which negatively impacts the local economy. To address this issue, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced new efforts to provide affordable housing, including the construction of 76 apartments in the Liberty City neighborhood for lower-income residents. This project, part of a broader initiative, aims to alleviate the housing affordability crisis. While rental prices are beginning to stabilize with more units available, home buyers still face challenges in the market.
CBS News Miami’s Jim Berry reports on affordable housing and what Miami-Dade is doing about it.

Paul Wilson with 5,000 Role Models of Excellence speaks on what it means to be a father
SUMMARY: On Father’s Day, Paul Wilson of 5000 Role Models of Excellence reflects on fatherhood’s evolving meaning—from celebration to reflection on his sons’ growth. At least 8 dead in shooting near Israeli and US-supported aid sites in Gaza
SUMMARY: At least eight Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded Sunday near Israeli- and U.S.-supported food distribution points in Gaza’s Rafah, amid allegations that Israeli forces opened fire on crowds seeking aid. The Gaza blockade and conflict have caused severe hunger for over 2 million people reliant on international assistance. The aid system, recently shifted from the UN to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation backed by Israel and the U.S., faces criticism for violence, access issues, and humanitarian concerns. Over 65 Palestinians died in the past day due to violence, while hostilities between Israel and Hamas persist following Hamas’ October 2023 attacks, with significant casualties and displacement in Gaza.
