A slice of Black Friday shopping in the Pine Belt
SUMMARY: One police deputy was shot in the lower abdomen but is expected to make a full recovery. Today marks Black Friday, and in the Pine Belt, customers were up bright and early to get first dibs on some of the deals. One shopper, Ashley Landrum, mentioned that it would be tough for non-people persons to handle the crowds. She mentioned that she and some others left the house at 6 or 6:15 a.m. to be at the stores when they opened. Hundreds of deals were being rolled out by the dozens at Academy in Hattiesburg, where everything from shoes to grills were being offered at a discount.

Interview: Gumtree Museum to showcase anniversary artwork

2025 Independence Celebration held at The Rez
