Applebee's is offering a free dine-in meal and $5 “Bounce Back” card for a future meal, while Bob Evans is giving veterans and active duty military a free meal from a menu of seven offerings. Other chains such as Buffalo Wild Wings, California Pizza Kitchen, Denny's, Dunkin', Hooters, IHOP, Krispy Kreme, Mission BBQ, Red Robin, Sheetz, Starbucks, and White Castle are also offering free meals or discounts with proof of military service. 15-year-old dies after being pulled from Clinton YMCA pool

SUMMARY: A 15-year-old boy, Jonas Pippins, died after being pulled from the pool at the Clinton Branch YMCA in Clinton, Mississippi, on Sunday, May 19. Lifeguards at the scene attempted resuscitation before EMTs took over. Despite these efforts, Pippins could not be revived. LeRoy Falcon, of the Metropolitan YMCAs of Mississippi, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and stated that an internal is being conducted to understand the circumstances better. Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Itawamba County

SUMMARY: A traffic stop in Itawamba County, Mississippi, on May 16 led to the arrest of 23-year-old Dustin Wildmon for drug charges and felony escape. Authorities, the Itawamba County Sheriff's Department and various narcotics units, found 600 fentanyl pills and amphetamines in Wildmon's vehicle after stopping him for careless driving. Wildmon attempted to flee the scene but was caught with the of a good Samaritan. He faces charges of trafficking Schedule II controlled substances, felony possession of a Schedule II drug, and felony escape. Wildmon is held at the Itawamba County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
